UCLA BruinCard
The BruinCard
is
UCLA's official identification card used to confirm your student status.
The first BruinCard is issued without charge to new students during their first
academic term at UCLA. (Replacement for a lost/stolen and damaged card is $21
and $6, respectively.)
The BruinCard serves the following
functions:
- Student identification card
- Residence hall, library, and recreation access card
- Debit card for purchases on and off campus
- Student ticket discount card
- BruinGO!
access card allowing you to ride at a reduced rate on the
Santa Monica Big
Blue Bus and Culver
City Bus transit systems.
To obtain a BruinCard:
Your application and photo must be received no later than 5 weeks prior to your orientation session in order to ensure timely processing, and must meet the predetermined criteria.
*We only accept a 2"x2" photo with a white background (i.e. passport photo). Write your UID on the back of the photo with a felt tip marker.
We DO NOT accept JPEG photos via email, photos with hats, sunglasses, bandanas, colored backgrounds, and profiled pictures. Please view here for samples of acceptable and non-acceptable photos.
- Check the status of your form and photo on MyUCLA at least 2-3 weeks after you mail them but not earlier than June 16, 2008.
- When you receive your BruinCard in the mail, login to the BruinCard site to activate it.
If you submit your form and photo on time you should receive your card in the mail approximately 1-2 weeks before your orientation session. Otherwise, your card will be available at orientation.
- Bring your card to orientation.
If you are not attending orientation, obtain your BruinCard at one of our offices during the first week of school:
