Commuter Services and Parking
For commuting students there are several convenient and flexible public transportation options to choose from providing an alternative to driving alone to campus, while students living in UCLA Residence Halls really can leave their car at home and still have mobility.
With the BruinGO! program, commuting students use their BruinCard to travel to and from campus at a reduced rate on any Santa Monica Big Blue Bus or Culver CityBus lines. On-campus residents can go round-trip to dozens of off-campus destinations. Students can either buy a Flash Pass ($33 a per quarter) or pay a 50-cent co-payment per trip.
UCLA Transportation subsidizes 50% of the cost of LADOT Commuter Express bus passes. Line 573 offers express bus service to campus from the north San Fernando Valley and Encino.
City of Santa Clarita Transit
Take advantage of convenient express trips on City of Santa Clarita Transit offers direct service between several Santa Clarita communities and UCLA/Westwood. UCLA Transportation is on board with a 50% subsidy of the cost of a monthly pass to ride.
Antelope Valley Transit Authority
Antelope Valley Transit Authority (AVTA) offers direct commuter bus service to UCLA from Lancaster and Palmdale, and UCLA Transportation is on board with a 50% subsidy of the cost of either a monthly pass or 10-Trip Pass to ride.

Extend your range and go farther, faster: Bike to the bus stop and then take your bike on the bus. Nearly all buses provide bicycle racks. UCLA students can rent on a quarterly basis deluxe hybrid city-style 8-speed cruiser bicycles fully equipped from the Bike Library.
Bruin Commuter Club
The Bruin Commuter Club provides all UCLA alternative transportation commuters a one-stop shop and access to products, services, information, benefits, and incentives. This club welcomes student commuters who are:
- in a UCLA Three-person Carpool
- a full-time passenger on a UCLA Vanpool
- a bus rider participating in one of the UCLA's fare-based public transit subsidized pass programs
Car Sharing with Zipcar
No car on campus? No problem! UCLA Transportation has teamed up with Zipcar, the nation's largest provider of car sharing services, to give Bruin students access to vehicles parked all around campus for mobility when you need it. Pay only for the hours you use, and the hourly fee covers the cost of the car, mileage, insurance, parking, gas and maintenance.

Due to traffic congestion, air quality concerns, and limited parking, UCLA encourages individuals not to drive alone to campus. In fact, parking is not guaranteed to individual students. To increase your chance of receiving a parking permit, be sure to apply on time and meet payment deadlines.

Students who form a two- or three- person carpool and apply together at UCLA Parking are guaranteed parking at a discounted rate.
