Psychobiology†
To be considered for admission the following pattern of core courses must be completed
by the spring before transfer:
- one year of biology with lab for the major
- one year of calculus
- one year of general chemistry with lab for the major
- one semester in organic chemistry with lab
Strongly Recommended
- a second semester of organic chemistry
- one year of calculus-based
physics
*Demand for the life science majors significantly
exceeds space available. Because these majors require the completion of extensive preparatory coursework prior to transfer, you must be admitted directly into a life science major; you will not be able to change from a non-life science major after admission to UCLA.
†Psychobiology
also requires one introductory Psychology course. Students
admitted to Psychobiology are classified as pre-psychobiology
until they complete the preparation courses.
