A Message to UCLA Transfer Students
We are excited to introduce you to a program where you can use your transfer and academic experiences to help other transfer and community college students make the transition to UCLA. The Student Transfer Outreach and Mentor Program (STOMP) is a volunteer based campus organization established by UCLA transfer students to provide educational partnership to students at community colleges.
Transfer students continually face challenging circumstances and issues that require the special understanding of students who have experienced these same situations. STOMP’s effectiveness is dependent upon the efforts of successful transfer students like you, and we believe that you could be a valuable asset to our organization. Sharing your experiences can be instrumental in motivating other students to follow in your footsteps and achieve their own goals.
STOMP provides you with many opportunities to develop personally through our academic preparation and educational partnership efforts. Our members participate in mentoring programs, visits to community colleges, student-panel presentations, and tours of the campus. STOMP also provides you many opportunities to develop invaluable communication skills and to network with faculty, staff, and students both on and off campus. This is also a great chance for you to meet other transfer students and to make new friends at UCLA.
The STOMP office is located in 2385 Wooden Center. We would like to invite you to our general meetings, which are held every Wednesday, 4:00 - 5:00 p.m. If you would like more information about STOMP, please contact us at (310) 206-8118 or email@example.com.
We look forward to meeting you, and hope that you will become a part of STOMP!
