Veterans
We thank you for your service and wish you success as you continue your education.
Recent updates to the GI Bill have greatly expanded the benefits available to those who have served in the military since September 11, 2001. The American Council on Education has created a Web site to help veterans choose a college and obtain their education benefits under the post-9/11 GI Bill:
About UCLA
UCLA (The University of California, Los Angeles) is part of the ten-campus University of California (UC) system. UC campuses are positioned throughout California, offer hundreds of major choices, and are recognized nationally as strong academic institutions.
UCLA students enroll in a full-time schedule and attend daytime classes. We do not offer part-time enrollment or evening coursework for our undergraduate degree programs. UCLA Extension offers academic and professional development courses to non-UCLA degree seeking students and options that include part-time, night, weekend, and satellite locations.
UCLA admits undergraduate students (seeking Bachelor of Arts--B.A. or Bachelor of Science--B.S. degrees) in two categories: freshman and junior-level transfer (see below).
Because of the high volume of applications from first-time degree seeking students, we do not admit students for second bachelor's degrees at UCLA (with the exception of the Post-Licensure Nursing Program). If you already have a bachelor's degree, UCLA offers many graduate and professional degree programs that may be of interest to you.
Am I a freshman or a transfer applicant?
If you graduated from high school but have never attempted any coursework at a college or university after graduating, then you would be considered a freshman.
If you have ever enrolled at a college or university, then you must meet the requirements for junior-level transfer admission to UCLA (you cannot disregard college work and apply as a freshman).
