  • two courses in calculus/analytic geometry [1]
  • one introductory psychology course [2]
  • one biology course [3]
  • one course in introductory physics [4], or introductory chemistry [5]
  • one philosophy course (critical reasoning, philosophy of science, or philosophy of the mind)
  • introduction to C++ programming
  • intermediate C++ programming
  • one additional computer programming course
  1. A score of 5 or on the AP Calculus AB exam can be used in place of the first calculus course.
    A score of 4 on the AP Calculus BC exam can be used in place of the first calculus course; a score of 5 on the AP Calculus BC exam can be used in place of both calculus courses.
  2. A score of 4 or higher on the AP Psychology exam can be used in place of the psychology course.
  3. A score of 3 or higher on the AP Biology exam can be used in place of the biology course.
  4. A score of 3 or higher on the AP Physics B or C exam can be used in place of the physics course.
  5. A score of 3 or higher on the AP Chemistry exam can be used in place of the chemistry course.
* Students are classified as Pre-Cognitive Science until they complete the preparation courses at UCLA.
