International Development Studies*

  • one course in micro or macroeconomics
  • one course in statistics
  • two years of a modern foreign language
  • four courses selected from the following five fields:
    • sociocultural anthropology
    • cultural or economic geography
    • world history/history of a developing region
    • comparative politics
    • introductory sociology

*Demand for this major significantly exceeds space available.

Note to applicants planning to apply for Fall Quarter 2010 or later:
You must complete a minimum of six preparatory courses by the end of spring, 2010 to be considered for admission to this major.
