The Mathematical Sciences Building houses the Math Department, Astronomy, and Atmospheric Sciences. Atop the Mathematical Sciences building, the UCLA Planetarium features sky shows and laser light shows.

Boelter Hall is the home of the Henry Samueli School of Engineering and Applied Science (HSSEAS). HSSEAS is nationally recognized for its programs in aerodynamics, electronics, space technology, and computer science. Boelter also contains a seismological institute.

Young Hall is named for William Gould Young, former Vice Chancellor and chemistry professor. It contains chemistry labs, classrooms, and faculty offices (which include three Nobel Laureates in Chemistry over the past 50 years).

The Molecular Sciences Building provides lab and office space for the departments of Chemistry and Biochemistry, and Microbiology, Immunology and Molecular Genetics (MIMG).

La Kretz Hall, opened in 2005, features a 352-seat lecture hall. It is also the home for the Institute of the Environment.

The UCLA Planetarium, which sits atop the Mathematical Sciences Building, offers free shows given by astronomy and astrophysics graduate students every Wednesday night during the school year at 8:00 p.m. On clear nights, visitors are invited to look through one of the department telescopes after the show.
