Janss Steps

Janss Steps is the original 87-step entrance to the university. They were named for the Janss brothers who sold the land that UCLA is built on for about one-third of the going market rate. John F. Kennedy and Martin Luther King, Jr. held rallies on Janss steps, and more recently they were used in Eddie Murphy’s Nutty Professor in a scene reminiscent of the famous training scene in Rocky.
